My journey started commonly

My journey with online marketing started about 15 months ago…

However my first thing online is about 3 moths old…

Why is that?

Initially I was doing a lot of research, and learning the whole idea of blogs, WordPress,SEO, and marketing.

I was learning old school stuff, and those updated ones, which are important today.

Like probably most of people, which are learning the online marketing in the beginning I started with Pat Flynn, and his Smart Passive Income.

I don’t know Pat personally, and I have been reaching him only once about year ago (I have send him an email, and He did reply me), but I threat him like a friend…

Don’t took me wrong, I mean that Pat, is sharing the online marketing content in the form, which is really simple, especially for someone who didn’t ever think about all of those online stuff.

I have started listening to his podcasts, and actually heard all of them. I have probably done it wrong, because Pat often says about how important is actually do something…

Not only read, but make an action…

But I thought… That is probably too expensive to me to buy all of those tools, and servers…

I had background, because as an IT programmer, I can code, just never been doing a working online websites before.

I have learned a tone stuff, and heard about stories, which are incredible…

How people after 50 took their chance, and actually stated a business from scratch, and do all those things, and actually make a living siting in their backyard.

Before that I was only thinking about learning different things, and that was my only solution for earning money…

More time, meant more money for me…

But Passive Income? No work, and earn…

Seemed like a Fantasy to me…

I was not doing anything with my knowledge… Just learning, buying books, and learning (Elon Musk also learned how to go in space from books, so why could I learned online marketing).

My issue also was money… I didn’t earn a lot back then, and have new car, and apartment to renovation, so every peny was important for me.

I have decided that I will learn as much I can by reading, and start doing something, when I will be financial stable.

The plan kick off after a year

After a year from my beginning, I felt like I have learned a tone…

I did read a lot of books, done some notes, and actually become living with advice’s from those books.

I bought some servers, and themes, learned WordPress (by trial an error), and learned SEO (I am still not best in the world, but I am on the road to become one :)).

And I have to say, that I am not earning online yet… But I feel like I really can…

Probably if someone let me go from work (like in Pat case), it could help me…

But I hope top work for a while, I have family, and financial commitments, and not a lot of savings, so I need to work…

Also I am good at my work, and it passionate me, unfortunately there are things, which passionate me more, so there I am…

Having a mentor matters

Like I mentioned on the beginning, I have started small, by reading and hearing Pat.

But during those sessions (mostly I have listening podcasts during 3 hours driving to my work, when I am often staying for few days), I felt passion about SEO.

And actually find someone, who in short time become a mentor of mine (He don’t know about my existence, but it is not important, I have learned everything what I can from him).

And I am talking about Glen Allsopp.

Where I heared first time about Glen? In one of the Pat’s Podcasts about Niche Sites.

And it wast a blast… It blows my mind….

So i have started interesting Glen, and his journey, how he started, and i noticed that he is same age as me…

Also he interests English Premier League (Newcastle United is his team, but they are in the championship right now, so no hard feelings).

I have never joined to Marketing INC, which is Glens product (but wish to join maybe this year), because I know how much Glen is delivering all the time…

Now Glen is working on Gaps, which is his newest product, and as always he is over delivering…

I wish I have a huge audience, and just redirect all of it to Gaps in thank for Glen, and his content.

BTW. I am wondering if Glen is keeping track in all of his back-links, hope he is and actually make a comment on this one.

GAPS is all about opportunities, which are online… There are millions of ideas, which can be implemented multiple times in different niches, and areas.. And Glen just simple shares those ideas for free.. As he says, that He don’t have time to implement all of them, He purely want others to benefit from them…

I have a massive Blog post in my plans (and I mean Blog Area, not Daily Updates), which i want to write about Glen, and his mark on my life…

Meanwhile I don’t know Glen personally, i have contacted with him several times (and he is replying, and giving some tips), but I don’t have to.

I read some time ago a book about mentors. Don’t remember the title, but I remember one important thing from it… It is really good to have at least one mentor, who we can meet in Person, (this can be someone from family, or someone successful, who lives in the neighborhood), and some mentors, which we can know only from books, and their publications.

And this is my advice to You…

Find someone in the World, who You think is the best in the work, which You also want to Provide, someone, who is similar to You in some ways (maybe same age, or geographic area), and simply learn from him, try to take his advice, and take his steps.

There is a saying, that You are the average of three people, which You are spending most time with.

If You don’t have someone authoritative in Your environment, read more books… It will felt like Your taking advices from this person.

And You become a better at whatever You will be learning in the process.
